Large gap around the bottom is nice on a hot day, not so when raining (will likely saw off a few inches from the poles to lower the porch to the ground) The material the product is made from is often a sign of the quality for 5 – 6 Person Tents. Another factor that can be a great indication of product quality is the brand. Brands like Hi-Gear are of course extremely well known, especially for 5 – 6 Person Tents.

The first time putting it up was slightly trial and error - maybe clearer instructions are needed (about 1 1/2 hours to put up, maybe 45 mins next time) It's a nice size but as a 6 berth it might be 2 adults and 4 children. That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Hi-Gear so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Hi-Gear branded products within the 5 – 6 Person Tents category. The cost of Hi-Gear 5 – 6 Person Tents There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it. We bought this in April for the two of us and our Labrador (tent, porch, footprint and carpet) from Go Outdoors. Very low price so it was like all extras were free. Unfortunately, we couldn't give it an outing until now (September). If you like the Gelert Horizon 6 or want to a different colour, then this tent is actually the same as the Gelert Horizon (both Hi Gear and Gelert have the same manufacturer).

To give that price some context we then looked at all of the products available from Go Outdoors in the 5 – 6 Person Tents category. We found 17 items in total. What’s the price of 5 – 6 Person Tents? Zenobia 8: this a great tent with awesome bedroom space. You can comfortably put 3 large campbeds in each end pod with reasonable space between them. Very easy to pitch and take down (took us about 25 mins) with 5 fibreglass poles which are all the same size. Ideal for family camping, the Hi Gear Zenobia Elite 6 is a spacious 6-person tent with flexible door and bedroom options and room for your gear, your furniture and yourselves. We’re really pleased to have scored Hi-Gear Zenobia 6 Nightfall Tent so highly, givimg it 8.5 out of 10, making it well above the average for all 5 – 6 Person Tents. As for the Zenobia 6, the Regatta Karuna 6 family tent seems to be the obvious alternative, although the Regatta Karuna does not have darkened bedrooms and it’s slightly more expensive than the Zenobia 6.When buying 5 – 6 Person Tents, the quality of the product is going to be one of the factors that you really scrutinise before you commit to buying. Adds a fair amount of extra room & can comfortably hold our kitchen unit and the table & chairs and leave room between to get in / out the main tent easily
